SYNOPSIS: Warm temperatures expected through Saturday with
Friday expected to be the warmest. Inland areas will see much
cooler temperatures Sunday with highs around 70. Rain is expected
to spread across the area Sunday night and Monday. This will bring
highs across the area around 60 on Monday. Gradual warming
temperatures are expected after this.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly cloudy early, then clearing, with a high near 81. North northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the morning.
Along the Coast: Widespread fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 60. Northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Along the Coast: Increasing clouds, with a low around 43. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
Extended Forecast: High pressure is building back in following a passing weather system, helping clear coastal clouds and bringing slightly warmer conditions, especially inland. Friday will be notably warmer with highs nearing 90°F in the hottest valleys, before a weekend trough expands the marine layer and cools temperatures slightly, especially near the coast. Rain is likely to arrive Sunday afternoon into Monday, with widespread cooling and variable rainfall amounts—ranging from light totals in the south to potentially over 2 inches in the mountains of Del Norte County. Cooler temperatures persist Monday, followed by a gradual warming trend midweek, though frost is possible in colder inland valleys Tuesday morning.
