NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE REPORT

Monday, August 25th, 2025

SYNOPSIS:  Interior high temperature will continue to run above

normal through Tuesday. Monsoonal moisture moving into the area

will bring an increase thunderstorm potential across the interior

higher terrain in Trinity County and surrounding terrain on Monday

and Tuesday, with isolated thunderstorm possible on Wednesday.

Gradual cooling temperatures across the interior through the end

of the week

TODAY:

Inland: Widespread haze. Sunny and hot, with a high near 101. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon

Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. South wind 5 to 8 mph

TONIGHT:

Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. Light and variable wind

Along the Coast: Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. Calm wind becoming south southeast 5 to 9 mph after midnight.

Extended Forecast: The interior areas will stay hotter than usual through Tuesday, but then gradually cool down through the end of the week. Monday and Tuesday will see an increased chance of thunderstorms in the mountainous areas, especially around Trinity County, with isolated storms possible on Wednesday. These storms will likely be “dry” thunderstorms – meaning they’ll produce lightning and strong winds up to 40 mph but very little rain will actually reach the ground, creating a fire danger. After Wednesday, the storm activity will move away and cooler, more typical weather will return, though there’s only a small chance of meaningful rain by early September.
