SYNOPSIS: Isolated dry thunderstorms inland remain possible through early tomorrow morning. One last day of hot temperatures likely for the interior. Stratus likely for the coastal areas with marginal short-lived clearing. Another upper level low/trough will bring a slight chance of showers, perhaps some thunderstorms, across the northern portions of the area Thursday and Friday.
TODAY:
Inland: Sunny, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. West northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Light north wind.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 56. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: A few thunderstorms could linger over far northeast Trinity County early this morning, with any that form capable of producing strong, gusty winds up to 40–60 mph. The storm activity will fade as the system moves north, and coastal areas may see some midday or afternoon clearing. By Thursday and Friday, another weather system will approach, bringing slightly cooler temperatures and a small chance (10–20%) of showers, mainly in Del Norte and northern Trinity counties. More noticeable cooling arrives Friday and Saturday, with inland highs dropping into the 80s and coastal highs in the mid-60s as clouds clear out more during the day.
