SYNOPSIS: Drier and warmer conditions today and Saturday, followed by a period of more light rain for the North Coast on Sunday. The synoptic weather pattern trending warmer and drier early next week.

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 84. Light north wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming west northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 5am. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 54. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light in the evening. 

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 56. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening. 

Extended Forecast: A ridge of high pressure is moving in over the West Coast, bringing warmer and drier weather to inland areas today through Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s to 80s. Along the coast, however, a thick marine layer is keeping skies mostly cloudy and temperatures cooler, in the low to mid-60s. A weak weather system will pass through late Saturday night into Sunday, possibly bringing light rain to parts of the coastal mountains. After that, winds will pick up, especially near the coast, and temperatures will rise again early next week, with some inland areas likely hitting the upper 90s.
