KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Today, Friday, September 19th, Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity Counties have suspended all burns at this time.
(Today, the North Coast Growers Association is hosting the Garberville Farmers’ Market from 11 until 3pm.)
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; Blocksburg, at 27922 Alderpoint Rd, from 1:30 until 3:30pm; (Dinsmore from 9 until 11am;) and Bridgeville, at 38717 Kneeland Rd., from 10 until 4pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday, September 20th, Food for People will be hosting a food distribution in Leggett, at 65100 Drive-Thru Tree Road, from 10 until 12:30pm.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be at Pierson Building Center, 4100 Broadway St, Eureka, from 10 until 4pm and Community First Credit Union, 757 Redwood Dr, Garberville, from 10 until 3pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting a food distribution in Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm; Willits from 1 until 4:30pm; (Round Valley, 76300 Grange St, Covelo from 10 until 2pm,) Laytonville Healthy Start, 44400 Willis Ave, from 2 until 4pm.
(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.) Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
