SYNOPSIS: High pressure rebuilds over the area today. Light rain possible in Del Norte and northern Humboldt on Saturday, while dry weather prevails elsewhere. Unsettled weather conditions are expected to begin Monday into the middle of next week, with the potential of a strong Atmospheric River bringing heavy rainfall and high winds.
TODAY:
Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 61. North northwest wind 3 to 5 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 49. Light and variable wind.
Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Pleasant weather is expected for Halloween night, making it a good evening for outdoor activities. On Saturday, there may be some light rain for Del Norte and northern Humboldt counties, while other areas stay dry. Early next week, a stronger storm system could arrive, bringing the potential for heavy rain and strong south winds to Northwest California between Tuesday night and Thursday. Rainfall could range from about 1 to 4 inches in some areas over 48 hours, with higher amounts possible on ridges and exposed coastal spots. Residents should monitor updates as the forecast develops, especially for possible wind and rain impacts.
