SYNOPSIS: Lingering rain showers through early this morning. Northerlies return for the coastal ranges today, followed by light offshore winds this weekend. Drier and generally warmer weather is expected for this weekend through at least early next week. Wet weather may return as early as mid next week.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 69. North wind 3 to 5 mph.
Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 60. North northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Patchy fog before 1am, then patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 46. Light north northwest wind.
Along the Coast: Partly cloudy, with a low around 46. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Extended Forecast: Minor flooding from king tides and tidal anomalies is expected in low-lying areas around Humboldt Bay early this afternoon, with higher water mainly localized near the bay. The rest of the region will see dry and warmer weather through the weekend and at least early next week, as high pressure brings pleasant, above-normal temperatures for several days. Wet weather could return as soon as mid-next week, but timing of this next system remains uncertain. Anyone near the coast should stay alert for minor coastal flooding today, especially during high tide periods.
