Appreciation Awards
Here are the results of your answers to the Appreciation Poll we ran last month. A huge thank you for voting and helping us shine a spotlight on our incredibly deserving programmers. KMUD is clearly People Powered!
– Ultimate favorite show : KMUD News (Lisa, Lauren and Sibby) every week day at 6:30PM and again at 8AM
– Life time achievement award : Simon, in recognition of his many years of dedication to KMUD—as a volunteer, programmer, and staff member. Though Simon has just retired from his staff role, we’re thrilled that he’ll continue sharing his voice on EuroBureau every Wednesday. He received a well-deserved standing ovation and delivered a speech, filled with emotion. Thank you, Simon, for your incredible contributions to KMUD!
– Most Unique radio personality: Poison Oak for the crazy hosting of his show The Cocklea, now every other Thursday from 10PM to midnight.
– Most Humboldt show: The Cannabis show (Steve and Sunshine), Mondays 5 to 6PM. A staple, for sure!
– Favorite family show: Children’s Stories and Music (Rainbow Bright, Larry Poppins and Dave), Sundays from 8 to 9:30PM
– Most sexy radio voice : Wolfmandu, who plays Funktionality every other Thursday from 8:30 to 10:30PM, and Jeff who plays Music Junkie Support Group on Sundays from 9 to 11PM. Tune in to the sexiest voices!
– Show you’d want to hear when stuck alone on a desert island: Ranking Reggae Rotation (LisaLuv, DJ Respect, Little Rock and Red I)
– Preferred syndicated show : Democracy Now far ahead and then equally Counterspin, Bioneers and New Dimensions
TALK SHOWS
– Favorite engineer : Katie, every Tuesdays from 6 to 8PM to introduce the local News, read the community calendar and put up all our 2 min segments, and engineer for the next talk show. It is a quite high pressure shift on KMUD and Katie handles it all with so much skill and grace!
-Best Researched Talk Show : The Choice is Yours (Sheila, Doro, and Dani), 4th Thursday from 9 to 10AM
– Show that makes the world a better place : Environment show (Kelley, Julian, Lolo Trash, Duff, Tom Wheeler and Grey Shaw), on Tuesdays from 7 to 8PM
MUSIC SHOW
-Most pleasant music show : It’s all about the music (Mumzer), on Fridays from 10AM to noon
-Most educational music show : Classical Spectrum (Margaret and Douglas) on Mondays from 10AM to noon / Don’t get Trouble on your mind (ED Denson RIP! – Jaya) on Saturdays from 10AM to noon
-Craziest Music show: Flying Saucer Hat (Zoltar), on Mondays 2 to 4PM
-Most creative music show : Land of a thousand Dances (Daniel), on Tuesdays 2:30 to 4PM
-Best researched Music show: Vinyl Frontier (Eddie), on Wednesdays 1 to 2:30PM
