A Humboldt County Superior Court judge has ruled in favor of Caltrans in the latest chapter of the nearly two-decade-long legal battle over Richardson Grove. The transportation agency aims to widen a section of Highway 101 near the Humboldt-Mendocino County line to accommodate larger semi-trucks, a move environmental groups argue could harm old-growth redwoods.
