KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, wordpress-1438018-5376424.cloudwaysapps.com, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services. This public calendar allows our community members to better plan their days; providers can share and sync their organization’s google calendar. Moving forward, we will continue to add events and information that benefit our community.

*Beginning on Monday, July 7th, The Humboldt County Department of Public Works will be repairing Bell Springs Road at Post Mile 2.20 & 4.96, north of Island Mountain Road. With an expected completion date in Mid-August. expect delays of up to 30 minutes between 7:30am and 4:30pm during this period. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Resident Engineer Angi Sorensen at (707) 445-7448.

*In Humboldt, The Garberville Farmers’ Market  will be closed today so the farmers, vendors and staff can have a safe and restful holiday. They will be back at the market Friday July 11th with all your favorite fresh produce,local meats, favorite products and more! Have a happy and safe 4th of July everyone!

In Eureka every Friday evening from 5:30 to 8:30 pm,The Friday Night Market transforms the streets of Old Town Eureka into a festive place to meet up with friends and neighbors after the long work week. The Friday Night Market features a farmers’ market, arts and craft vendors, food, drinks, and live local music on three stages. Open every Friday of the season, the Friday Night Market has something for everyone.

In Mendocino, the Ukiah Food Bank, at 388 N. State St, is hosting food distributions from noon until 4pm; and the Willits Community Services and Food Bank, at 344 Railroad Ave, from 1 until 4:30pm. The Fort Bragg Food Bank hosts the Mendocino Food & Nutrition Program, at 910 N Franklin St, from 10am to 3:45pm. The Point Arena Action Network distributes from The Center, at 200 Main Street, Fridays from 2-5pm.

Hot meals are provided Monday through Friday at the following locations:

  • Willits Senior Center from 11:45 to 1pm
  • Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah from 11:30 until noon. 
  • Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm
  • Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm.

County of Humboldt offices will be closed on Friday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Public lobbies will be closed and essential services such as law enforcement and emergency operations will remain functional. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, July 7. 

Today, Friday,  July 4th,  Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity and Counties have suspended all burns at this time.
