KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, wordpress-1438018-5376424.cloudwaysapps.com, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services. This public calendar allows our community members to better plan their days; providers can share and sync their organization’s google calendar. Moving forward, we will continue to add events and information that benefit our community.

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works will be repairing Bell Springs Road at Post Mile 2.20 & 4.96, north of Island Mountain Road. With an expected completion date in Mid-August. expect delays of up to 30 minutes between 7:30am and 4:30pm during this period. In Humboldt,

Today, and every Tuesday between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Get recharged every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. If you have donations of food or warm coats to offer, or need additional information call 707-223-1560 

Today and every Tuesday of the season, the Shelter Cove Farmers’ Market, the Fortuna Farmers Market, and the Old Town Farmers’ Market are offering up the freshest Humboldt-County-Grown and GMO-free produce along with plants, meats and other wonderful products. The Shelter Cove Farmers’ Market is located at Mario’s Marina and is open from 11 am to 3 pm. The Fortuna Farmers’ Market is open from 3 to 6 pm and is located on 10th Street between Main and L Street in downtown Fortuna. The Old Town Farmers’ Market is located in Old Town Eureka next to the Gazebo and is open from 10 am to 1pm. 

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile is at the Hydesville Community Church located at 3296 Hwy 36 from noon to 6pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net

Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today via curbside pickup at the Fort Bragg Food Bank from 10 am to 12 pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. The Comptche Food Bank at Chapel of the Redwoods, 31201 Comptche Ukiah Road, Comptche, CA 95427 offers resources from 2-4PM. Mendocino Community pantry offers resources from 1:30-3pm at Mendocino Presbyterian Church at 44831 Main St, Mendocino

For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 E. Commercial Street in Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. 

Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The Eureka Choice Pantry located at 307 W 14th Street will be open from 10 am until 3:45 pm today. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Drive will be open from 10 am until 3 pm. And in Garberville, at the Presbyterian Church at 797 Locust St will be hosting a distribution from 1030am to noon. 

(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.)  Hot meals are provided Monday through Friday at the following locations:

  • Willits Senior Center from 11:45 to 1pm
  • Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah from 11:30 until noon. 
  • Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm
  • Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm.
