Community Safety & Awareness – January 27, 2025

Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today at the Fort Bragg Food Bank from 12 noon to 3pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 58 Bush St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. 

Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Drive will be open from 10 am until 3 pm, and in Fortuna, the pantry at 2292 Newburg Road will be open from 10 am until noon today. 

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Wildberries Marketplace located at 747 13th Street in Arcata from 12 noon until 6 pm. And as always, individuals can donate at the blood bank daily, Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment, visit nccbb.net 

Tomorrow, and every Tuesday, between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, warm clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Recharge every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.

Today, Monday, January 27th is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
