Today, the Food For People Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Orick Elementary School in Orick between 12 noon and 2pm.

Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Drive will be open from 10 am until 3 pm. The Rio Dell Pantry is open today at the Chamber of Commerce at 406 Wildwood Avenue from 9 am until 12 noon. The Blue Lake Pantry located at 111 Greenwood Drive is open today from 10 am until 2pm. In Willow Creek, the pantry is open from 10 am until 12 noon at the Willow Creek Community Resource Center located at 38883 Highway 299. In Ferndale, residents can visit the pantry from 1 to 2 pm at the Ferndale Community Church located on 712 Main Street. Nearby in Loleta, the pantry is open from 3 to 5 pm at the Loleta Community Church at 218 Church Street. And in Garberville, the pantry at 437 Maple Lane will be hosting a distribution from 2 to 4 pm. .

Mendocino County residents, the Mendocino Community Food Pantry will be hosting a food distribution today, and every Thursday, from 2 to 3pm at 44831 Main Street next to the Mendocino Presbyterian Church.  For a hot meal,  residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 E. Commercial Street in Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program.  

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at McKinleyville Family Resource Center between 10 and 4pm.  And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net

CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.

Today, Thursday, April 17th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
