Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today from the Potter Valley Food Pantry at 10270 Main Street every 4th Friday of the month from  2-4 PM. Ukiah Community Food Bank at 888 North State Street every Friday between 12-4pm. The Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 10 am to 4pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. Willits residents can visit the Willits Food Bank, today from 1-4:30pm at 344 Railroad Avenue in Willits. Questions? Call 459-3333. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Inc Home Meal Delivery, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program.

The Eureka Choice Pantry located at 307 W 14th Street will be open from 10 am until 3:45 pm today.

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Hunter, Hunter and Hunt at 2663 Harris Street in Eureka from 10 until 3pm and the McKinleyville Shopping Center at 1505 City Center Road from 11 until 5pm. . And as always, individuals can donate at the blood bank daily, Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment, visit nccbb.net 

This month’s  Global Stuff is a prerecorded show with Sam Rosenthal, the Political Director of Rootsaction.org. Host Jimmy Durchslag and Sam will talk about the petition drive launched by Progressive Democrats of America and RootsAction to get the Democratic National Committee to hold an emergency meeting. The petition asserts that “business as usual must give way to truly bold action that mobilizes against the autocracy that Donald Trump, Elon Musk and their cronies are further entrenching every day.” They will also discuss the hundreds of possibly illegal and unconstitutional actions initiated by the Trump Administration in its first days. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.

Today, Friday, April 25th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
