KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services. 

Today, Wednesday, August 20th,  Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity and Counties have suspended all burns at this time. 

In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in (Trinidad, at the Trinidad City Hall, 409 Trinity St from 10:30 until 12:30pm;) McKinleyville from 10 until 3pm; Arcata from 4 until 6pm; Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; (Fortuna from 10 until noon); and Garberville from 2 to 4pm. 

(The Food for People Mobile Pantry will be in Willow Creek today, at Dream Quest Youth Center, 100 Country Club Dr., from 10 until noon.)

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be in Arcata today at Mad River Community Hospital from 11 until 4pm and United Indian Health Services: the offices of Felicia Ferguson, MD, 1600 Weeot Way from 11 until 4pm.  To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.

In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Fort Bragg from 10 to 3:45pm;  Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Willits from 1 until 4:30pm;  Westport, 37551 N. Shoreline Hwy, from 6 to 8pm.

(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.)  Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon. 

Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.

The KMUD Board of Directors will meet today, Wednesday, August 20th, at 5:30pm, via Zoom. You can help to keep our community trash-free by joining the Eel River Clean-up Project tomorrow, and every Thursday. Join ERCP tomorrow at 9:30am at the Garberville Vet’s Park, across from Dazey’s, to help keep Southern Humboldt roadsides trash free.
