KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Today, Thursday, August 21st, Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity and Counties have suspended all burns at this time.
The North Coast Growers Association is hosting the McKinleyville Farmers’ Market from 3 until 6pm and the Henderson Center Farmer’s Market from 10 until 1:30pm.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in (Blue Lake from 10 until 1pm; Willow Creek from 10 until noon; McKinleyville from 10 until 3:00pm, Ferndale from 1 until 2pm;) Loleta from 3 until 5pm; (Rio Dell from 9 until noon; and Garberville from 10:30 until noon.)
(The Food for People Mobile Pantry will be in Orick from 12 until 2:00pm at Orick Elementary School, 120918 US-101)
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be at Premier Financial Group, 725 6th St, in Eureka from 11 until 4pm and Bear River Casino and Resort in Loleta from 3 to 7pm. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Ukiah from 9 until 2pm.
(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.) Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
(AHHA Care-A-Van is at the Transit Center in Arcata today from 10:00am – 3:00pm
AHHA Care-A-Van is a three-bathroom trailer with showers. They also distribute clothing, food, and hygiene supplies and help individuals connect with services.)
