The Humboldt County Public Works Road Division announced yesterday that Chemise Mountain Road is closed until further notice. Additionally, the following roads are experiencing flooding: Coffee Creek Road, Howard Heights Road, and Cannibal Island Road. Flooded roads are a serious hazard; avoid driving through water-covered areas, as even shallow floods can be dangerous and cause vehicles to become stranded. Use alternate routes and stay updated on local conditions.
The Eureka Choice food pantry will be open today at 307 West 14th Street from 10 am until 3:45 pm.
Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today at the Gualala Food Pantry from 11-12:30 at 37300 Church St in Gualala. For additional info, call 884-4330. The Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 12 noon to 3pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. Willits residents can visit the Willits Food Bank, today from 1-4:30pm at 229 E. San Francisco St. in Willits. Questions? Call 459-3333. For a hot meal, Fort Bragg residents can visit the First Baptist Church at noon today on the corner of Franklin & Pine in Fort Bragg. Call 964-3422 for more information. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year round to avoid receiving a violation.
Today, Friday, December 27th IS a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
