Today is President’s Day. Non-essential federal, state, and local services may be closed today.
Construction for the Garberville Sanitary District’s Tank Replacement Project begins tomorrow,Tuesday, February 18. Traffic control will be in place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes. Work is scheduled to finish by Friday, February 21, weather permitting.
Mendocino County residents, the Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 10 am until 4 pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 East Commercial Street in Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Additionally, Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. Tomorrow, the Anderson Valley Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 9am to 11:30am at the United Methodist Church located at 13850 Hwy 128 in Boonville. The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the Welcome Center from 8am until 2pm. Contact the blood bank for additional information. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, warm clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Get out of the weather every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year-round to avoid receiving a violation.
Today, Monday, February 17th, is NOT A BURN DAY in Mendocino County. However, today, February 17th is a permissive burn day in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
