Today, the Food For People Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Orick Elementary School in Orick between 12 noon and 2pm.
Food for People will be distributing food to those in need throughout Humboldt County today. In Rio Dell, the pantry at 406 Wildwood Avenue will be open from 9 am until 12 noon. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Avenue will be open from 10 am until 3 pm. Over in Blue Lake, the pantry at 111 Greenwood Avenue will be open from 10 am until 2 pm today. Toward the east, the Willow Creek Pantry at 38883 Hwy 299 will be open from 10 am until noon. In south county, the Garberville Pantry at 437 Maple Lane will be open from 10:30 am until 12 noon. The Ferndale Pantry at 712 Main Street will be open from 1 to 2 pm today, along with the Loleta Pantry at 218 Church Street that will be open from 3 to 5 pm.
Mendocino County residents, the Mendocino Community Food Pantry will be hosting a food distribution today, and every Thursday, from 2 to 4pm at 44831 Main Street next to the Mendocino Presbyterian Church. The Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 4 to 6pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 58 Bush St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. Additionally, the Anderson Valley Senior Center has hot meals available for dinner today at the Veterans Hall in Booneville. For details, call 895-3609.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the McKinleyville Family Resource Center at 1615 Heartwood Drive from 11 am until 5 pm, and at Safeway in Arcata located at 600 F Street from 11 am until 4 pm. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in the state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year round to avoid receiving a violation.
Today, Thursday, January 16th is a NO BURN DAY in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
