KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services. This public calendar allows our community members to better plan their days; providers can share and sync their organization’s google calendar. Moving forward, we will continue to add events and information that benefit our community.
Beginning on Monday, July 7th, The Humboldt County Department of Public Works will be repairing Bell Springs Road at Post Mile 2.20 & 4.96, north of Island Mountain Road. With an expected completion date in Mid-August. expect delays of up to 30 minutes between 7:30am and 4:30pm during this period. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Resident Engineer Angi Sorensen at (707) 445-7448.
Today, the North Coast Growers Association is hosting the Old Town Farmers’ Market from 10 until 1pm; Fortuna Farmers’ Market from 3 until 6pm; and the Shelter Cove Farmers’ Market from 11 until 3pm.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in McKinleyville from 10 until 3:00pm; Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm; Arcata from 4 until 6pm ; Fortuna from 10 until noon; Petrolia from 11 until noon; Honeydew from 3 until 4pm; and in Garberville from 2 until 4pm.
The Food for People’s Mobile Produce Pantry is at the HUPA SHOPPING CENTER in Hoopa from 10 until noon.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be at Safeway in Arcata from 11 until 4pm and Fortuna Community Health Center, 3750 Rohnerville Rd, in Arcata from 10 until 4pm.
In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting a food distribution in Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm; and in Willits from until 1:00 until 4:30pm .
(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.) Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
