The Mendocino Food and Nutrition Program will be hosting a drive-thru pop up for fresh, premade food distribution in Willits today at 1250 Blosser Lane from 10 am to 11:30 am. Swing by for a delicious premade meal. 

Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today at the Mendocino Community Food Pantry today, and every Thursday, from 2 to 4 pm at 44831 Main Street next to the Mendocino Presbyterian Church. Residents can receive a hot meal at Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 E. Commercial St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. Mendocino Coast Hospitality House, 237 N. McPherson St., Fort Bragg,  has bagged lunches today from 10am until 12 noon. Redwood Coast Seniors, 409 N. Harold St., Fort Bragg, has daily meals Monday through Friday  11:30-1:15.  Ukiah Community Food Bank, 888 North State Street, Ukiah, is open from 9am until 2pm. 

Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Drive will be open from 10 am until 3 pm. The Willow Creek Pantry will be open today from 10 am until 12 noon, located at 38883 Highway 299. Community food distribution will be happening today at the Myers Flat Fire Station located at 54 Myers Avenue from 12 noon until 3 pm. And in Garberville, the pantry at 437 Maple Lane will be hosting a distribution from 10:30 until noon.

Reminder, burn permits are required for ALL open burning. Burn hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Burn piles are limited to 4’ x 4’, unless otherwise stated by a fire agency. You can only burn vegetative matter. 

Today, Thursday, May 1st, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.

Starting today, the CAL FIRE Humboldt – Del Norte Unit requires both Standard and Non-Standard Burn Permit holders in State Responsibility Areas, to also obtain a CAL FIRE Burn Permit. A North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District (NCUAQMD) burn permit is still required year-round and contains the permittee’s designated burn zone.
