This morning at 6:57AM, a closure of a Road, at Sr1 / Van Damme State Park was posted by California Highway Patrol at quickmap.dot.ca.gov. As of 9:28am it was still closed.
The Garberville Farmers’ Market is open today and every Friday of the season, 11 am to 3 pm. Visit the Garberville Farmers’ Market today located at the Garberville Town Square to purchase the freshest Humboldt-County-Grown and GMO-free produce along with plants, meats and other wonderful products.
The Food For People Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Wiyot Community Distribution site today, from 10 am to 12 noon at 1000 Wiyot Drive in Loleta, and at the Bear River Community Distribution site from 11am to 12:30pm today, at 263 Keisner, in Loleta.
Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The Eureka Choice Pantry located at 307 W 14th Street will be open from 10 am until 3:45 pm today. The monthly Blocksburg pantry located at 27822 Alderpoint Road will be open from 1:30 to 3:30 pm today.The Bridgeville Pantry located at 38717 Kneeland Road will be open from 10 am until 4 pm today. And the Dinsmore Pantry near the Dinsmore airport on Highway 36 is open from 9 am until 11 am today.
Mendocino County residents, in Laytonville, a food distribution will take place today and every third Friday of the month from 2 to 4 pm located at 44400 Willis Avenue. In Covelo, the Round Valley Food Bank at 76300 Grange Street is open from 10 until 2pm. Willits residents can visit the Willits Food Bank, today from 1-4:30pm at 344 Railroad Avenue in Willits. Questions? Call 459-3333. The Fort Bragg Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution from 10 am to 4pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. The Ukiah Food Bank, at 888 N State St. is open from noon until 4pm.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the McKinleyville Shopping Center located at 1505 City Center Road from 10 am until 4 pm, and at Pierson’s Building Center at 4100 Broadway St. in Eureka from 11 until 4pm. Reminder, burn permits are required for ALL open burning. Burn hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Burn piles are limited to 4’ x 4’, unless otherwise stated by a fire agency. You can only burn vegetative matter.
Today, Friday, May 16th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
As of May 1st, , the CAL FIRE Humboldt – Del Norte Unit requires both Standard and Non-Standard Burn Permit holders in State Responsibility Areas, to also obtain a CAL FIRE Burn Permit. A North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District (NCUAQMD) burn permit is still required year-round and contains the permittee’s designated burn zone.
