Today the Food For People Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Orleans- Karuk Senior Center located at 459 Asip Rd from 11 to 1pm.
Food for People will be hosting food distributions around Humboldt County today. The McKinleyville Pantry at 1615 Heartwood Drive will be open from 10 am until 3 pm. The Willow Creek Pantry will be open today from 10 am until 12 noon, located at 38883 Highway 299.And in Garberville, the pantry at 437 Maple Lane will be hosting a distribution from 10:30 to noon.
The Mendocino Food and Nutrition Program will be hosting a drive-thru pop up for fresh, premade food distribution in Covelo today at Covelo Pop-Up, 76300 Grange St. from 12:00pm-1:00pm.
Mendocino Coast Hospitality House, 237 N. McPherson St. in Fort Bragg, provides Meals Mon-Fri 3 P.M and shower and laundry facilities from 10 until 2pm, and bagged lunches from 10 until noon. Seniors can join the Redwood Coast Seniors, at 409 N. Harold St. in Fort Bragg, for meals daily Mon-Fri 11:30-1:15. Ukiah Community Food Bank, 888 North State Street in Ukiah, is open from 9 until 2pm today. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center, 1346 S. State St. in Ukiah, provides a meal weekdays from 11:30 am until noon.
For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 111 East Commercial Street in Willits. For info, call 459-3947. .Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at the Walmart in Eureka at 3300 Broadway Bayshore Rd from 10 to 6pm, and in Fortuna at Rohner Park, 9 Park Street, from 11 until 5pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net
The KMUD Public Affairs Hour today at 5pm is hosted by the Garberville Rotary Club President Shawn Masterson, past President Garth Epling-Card and Rotary Member Darren Guerra. Today, their guests include Jasmine Jolly will be discussing the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and Andy Barnett talking about the Eagle River Source to Sea Conference.

Reminder, burn permits are required for ALL open burning. Burn hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Burn piles are limited to 4’ x 4’, unless otherwise stated by a fire agency. You can only burn vegetative matter.
Today, Thursday, May 8th, is a permissive burn day in Mendocino, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity counties.
As of May 1st, , the CAL FIRE Humboldt – Del Norte Unit requires both Standard and Non-Standard Burn Permit holders in State Responsibility Areas, to also obtain a CAL FIRE Burn Permit. A North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District (NCUAQMD) burn permit is still required year-round and contains the permittee’s designated burn zone.
