Community Safety & Awareness Report – November 12, 2024

The Food for People Mobile Produce Pantry will be in Redway today, in the Baptist Church parking lot, located at 1055 Redway Drive, between 10:30am and 12:30pm. 

Food distribution will be occurring today and every Tuesday & Thursday at the Garberville Presbyterian Church located at 437 Maple Lane from 1030 am to 12 noon.

Today, and every Tuesday, between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, warm clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Get recharged every Tuesday, that’s today, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. If you have donations of food or warm coats to offer or need additional information call 707-223-1560 

Mendocino County residents, the Point Arena Food Pantry is hosting a food distribution at 24000 S. Highway 1 at the VFW Hall from 830 am to 12 noon. Call 882-2137 for additional information.  For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 58 Bush St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. 

The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Blue Lake Rancheria located at 428 Chartin Road in Blue Lake from 11 am to 4 pm, and at the Cal Poly Humboldt Quad located at 1 Harpst Street in Arcata from 11 am to 4 pm. And as always, the blood bank is open Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment to donate, visit nccbb.net

CAL FIRE has lifted the burn suspension, but fire season designation is still in effect. Residents in state responsibility areas must also obtain a Cal Fire burn permit. Year round, you still must have an air quality burn permit to avoid receiving a violation. Provided you have a valid air quality burn permit, Tuesday, November 12th IS a permissive burn day in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, and Trinity counties.
