Community Safety & Awareness Report – November 25, 2024

Mendocino County residents can receive food assistance today at the Fort Bragg Food Bank from 12 noon to 3pm today at 910 north Franklin Street in Fort Bragg. For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 58 Bush St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program. 

The Mendo Food Network will be hosting a Thanksgiving Pop-Up at 300 Cahto Drive in Laytonville on Tuesday, November 26th from 12 noon until 2 pm. Free, fresh food for all. The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Wildberries Marketplace located at 747 13th Street in Arcata from 12 noon until 6 pm.  And as always, individuals can donate at the blood bank daily, Monday thru Friday, located at 2524 Harrison Avenue in Eureka. To schedule an appointment, visit nccbb.net 

Tomorrow, and every Tuesday, between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a hot meal, electronics recharging, warm clothing, and, as needed, there’s limited outdoor living supplies available. Recharge every Tuesday, that’s tomorrow, from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. CAL FIRE has lifted the requirement for residents in state responsibility area to obtain a CAL FIRE burn permit, however, an air quality air permit is required year round to avoid receiving a violation. 

Provided you have a valid air quality burn permit, Monday, November 25th IS a permissive burn day in Humboldt, Del Norte, Mendocino, and Trinity counties.
