Today the Food For People Mobile Produce Pantry will be at the Weitchpec Tribal Office between 11am and 1pm.
Food distribution will be occurring today and every Tuesday & Thursday at the Garberville Presbyterian Church located at 437 Maple Lane from 1030am to 12 noon.
Today and every Tuesday of the season, the Shelter Cove Farmers’ Market, the Fortuna Farmers Market, and the Old Town Farmers’ Market are offering up the freshest Humboldt-County-Grown and GMO-free produce along with plants, meats and other wonderful products. The Shelter Cove Farmers’ Market is located at Mario’s Marina and is open from 11 am to 3 pm. The Fortuna Farmers’ Market is open from 3 to 6 pm and is located on 10th Street between Main and L Street in downtown Fortuna. The Old Town Farmers’ Market is located in Old Town Eureka next to the Gazebo and is open from 10 am to 1pm.
Today, and every Tuesday, between noon and 3 pm, you can recharge at the Redway Baptist Church. For those living without a home, Bridging the Gap Ministries will welcome you for a meal and electronics recharging. Get recharged every Tuesday, that’s today from noon to 3pm at the Redway Baptist Church at 1055 Redway Drive. If you have donations or need additional information call 707-223-1560
Mendocino County residents, the Anderson Valley Food Bank will be hosting a food distribution today from 9am to 11:30am at the United Methodist Church located at 13850 Hwy 128 in Boonville. If you have questions, call 895-3887 for more info. For a hot meal, residents can visit the Willits Daily Bread, Monday thru Thursday for Dinner, from 5:30-6:30pm located at 58 Bush St. Willits. For info, call 459-3947. Additionally, the Anderson Valley Senior Center has hot meals available for dinner today at the Veterans Hall in Booneville. For details, call 895-3609. Seniors in Willits can participate in the Willits Seniors Home Meal Delivery program, Monday through Friday. Contact 459-6826 if you’d like information on this program.
The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobile will be at Eureka Natural Foods located at 2165 Central Avenue in McKinleyville from 9am to 3pm, and at Safeway, located at 475 M Street in Crescent City from 1 to 6pm. Community Alert:
Prescribed burns are planned in Leggett, Garberville, Briceland, and Honeydew from Friday, October 11th to Tuesday, October 15th to reduce forest fuels, improve community protection, and restore ecosystems. Smoke and flames may be visible in these areas. Today, October 15th, crews on the Marshall prescribed burn will be burning forest lands near Honeydew.
Burns will be conducted in collaboration with local fire departments and other partners, following CAL FIRE and air quality regulations. Dates may change based on weather or other factors.
