KMUD’s new Community Resources and Calendar page is now live on the KMUD website, kmud.org, under the COMMUNITY dropdown menu. Our improved calendar provides addresses, phone numbers and up to date information for farmers markets, food distributions, public meals, blood drives and other community services.
Today, Friday, September 5th, Humboldt, Mendocino, Del Norte and Trinity Counties have suspended all burns at this time.
CalTrans reports that the Northbound 101 Off Ramp to Barkdull Rd is Fully Closed due to drainage work today and will be re-opened at 7pm.
The North Coast Growers Association is hosting the Garberville Farmers’ Market from 11 until 3pm.
In Humboldt, Food for People is hosting food distributions in Eureka from 10 until 3:45pm.
(The Northern California Community Blood Bank’s blood mobiles will be in Eureka at the Eureka Mall from 10 until 3pm and in Old Town, 619 2nd Ave., from 10 until 3pm.) Tomorrow, Friday, September 6th, the blood mobile will be at Unity in the Community, Redwood Acres Raceway, 3750 Harris St, Eureka, from 10 until 3pm. In Mendocino, the Mendocino Food Network is hosting food distributions in Ukiah from noon until 4pm; Fort Bragg from 10 until 3:45pm; Willits from 1 until 4:30pm ; Point Arena from 2 until 5pm.
(No need to read the following lunch announcements at 3pm.) Lunches are provided for seniors at the Willits Senior Center from 11:45 until 1:00pm, and the Redwood Coast Seniors Center in Fort Bragg from 11:30 until 1:15pm. Plowshares Peace and Justice Center in Ukiah provides a hot meal weekdays from 11:30 until noon.
Meals are provided Monday through Friday at Willits Daily Bread from 4:30 to 5:30pm and at the Mendocino Coast Hospitality House in Fort Bragg at 3pm.
