County Conversation: Nataly Arroyo on Measure S and Federal Cuts
In our March edition of County Conversation, Supervisor Natalie Arroyo shared insights from her recent Coast Guard Reserve deployment, where she assisted the EPA with hazardous waste cleanup after the LA wildfires. Arroyo discussed monitoring how federal budget cuts could impact local response efforts and emergency preparedness.
We also covered the Board of Supervisors’ consideration of extending Measure S tax deadlines for cannabis permit holders as the county faces a $15 million budget deficit — though the county is not directly reliant on Measure S revenues.
Arroyo also announced that the Humboldt Bay Trail grand opening — connecting Arcata and Eureka — is scheduled for June 28.
