County Seeks Public Input on Regional Climate Action Plan Draft

The Humboldt County Department of Public Works is hosting a public meeting Tuesday, March 18, 2025, to present the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Humboldt Regional Climate Action Plan (CAP). The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Wharfinger Building (1 Marina Way, Eureka, CA 95501) and will be available both in-person and online.
The Climate Action Plan, which has been in development since 2018, aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. Humboldt County has created a regional plan in collaboration with the cities of Eureka, Arcata, Fortuna, Ferndale, Trinidad, Blue Lake, and Rio Dell to streamline resources and set realistic targets for reducing emissions.
The Draft CAP is available for public review until April 5, 2025 at humboldtgov.org/climateactionplan. Humboldt County encourages community members to attend the meeting and provide feedback
