The Humboldt Amateur Radio Club Field Day

Members of the Humboldt Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the national amateur radio Field Day exercise, June 27 – 28 at Woodley Island Marina, 601 Startare Dr., Eureka.

The public is invited on Saturday, June 27, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Field Day is a showcase for how amateur radio functions reliably under any conditions from almost any location to create an independent communications network. Ham radio functions completely independent of the Internet or cell phone infrastructure, can interface with laptops or smartphones, and can be set up almost anywhere in minutes during electrical and communication outages during emergencies and disasters.
