Ferndale Rep Presents: The Play That Goes Wrong
Can This Play Survive Opening Night? Come Find Out!
The Broadway and West End smash lands in Ferndale — don’t miss the mayhem!
Ferndale, CA – Ferndale Repertory Theatre kicks off its 2025/2026 season with the award–winning Broadway and West End hit The Play That Goes Wrong, running September 5 through September 28.
Part whodunit, part slapstick, and 100% chaos, this fast-paced farce follows a hapless theatre troupe determined to stage a 1920s murder mystery… but from collapsing sets to disappearing props and actors who can’t stay on their feet, everything that can go wrong — does. Think Noises Off meets Monty Python meets Sherlock Holmes, packed with precision-timed mishaps and nonstop laughter.
This production is sponsored in memory of Vikki Young and Bob Clark. Season sponsors include Hussey Financial Consulting Group of Stifel, Lost Coast Communications Inc., and Ferndale Arts Gallery.
Why You’ll Love It
It’s won London’s Olivier Award, Broadway’s Tony Award, and the hearts of audiences worldwide — and now it’s finally coming to Ferndale!
The Play That Goes Wrong is pure, laugh-out-loud chaos: props misbehave, sets fall apart, and the cast refuses to give up no matter how spectacularly things spiral out of control. It’s smart, silly, and side-splittingly funny — the kind of night at the theatre you’ll remember long after the lights come up.
