Fort Bragg Police Intensify Search for Missing 15-Year-Old

Fort Bragg Police are escalating efforts to locate 15-year-old Roy Moura, who was last seen on the evening of December 7th at the Lighted Truck Holiday Parade in downtown Fort Bragg. Moura did not return home after attending the event near Franklin and Laurel Streets.

Roy’s mother reported him missing that evening, prompting police to launch an official investigation the following day. She emphasized that this behavior is entirely uncharacteristic for her son, who has no history of running away.

The search has since grown into a coordinated effort involving local authorities, state agencies, and community members. Police quickly obtained Moura’s last known cellphone location, which placed him near the Fort Bragg railroad yard early on December 8th. A comprehensive search of the area, conducted in collaboration with Skunk Train staff, yielded no signs of Roy or his phone.

Fort Bragg Police, along with Mendocino County Search and Rescue, have expanded their efforts, covering potential areas Roy may have traveled to, including the coastline, headlands, and surrounding regions. A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter from Humboldt Bay joined the search, scouring areas inaccessible by foot.

Officers have reviewed surveillance footage and conducted numerous interviews, piecing together a timeline of Roy’s last known movements. Surveillance video captured him walking south on the Noyo Bridge around 8:30 p.m. on December 7th, but subsequent footage has yet to confirm his return north.

Police Chief Neil Cervenka stated, “Finding Roy is our top priority. We have dedicated our staff to following up on every lead and pulling every thread. If anyone in the community knows anything personally, please come forward.”

Roy Moura is a transgender young man, and is described as 5’6” with a thin build, wearing a dark blue Mendocino College T-shirt, denim jeans, white shoes, and possibly a dark blue sweatshirt. He also wears round-rimmed glasses.
