Humboldt RCD Suppmitted Grant Application for the Mail Ridge Project

RCD Forst Health & Wildfire Resilience project map

Fire resilience is on all our minds as the Southern California fires continue to burn. Here at home, the Humboldt Resource Conservation District submitted a $6.6 Million CalFire Forest Health grant application to fund a portion of the important regional fuel break known as the Mail Ridge Project. The project is based on community identified needs documented in the Humboldt CWPP.
The 2019 Humboldt County Community Wildfire Protection Plan can be viewed online. The 5 year update process to the CWPP will be going on this year, 2025. Watch for meeting times and places in your community. In the meantime, check out the Southern Humboldt Fire Safe Council website at SoHumFireSafe.org for lots of resources and information.
