Los Angeles is Living a Climate Whiplash Event
Dr. Daniel Swain, meteorologist, climatologist, and climate educator, expresses frustration over the misinformation and disinformation surrounding fires in Los Angeles County. For the past 3 years, Swain and colleagues have been writing Hydroclimate volatility on a warming Earth describing how climate warming would create just this kind of scenario. Two wet winters followed by eight months of drought and now an extended period of dry atmospheric conditions created a disaster.
