Message from Humboldt Domestic Violence Services

Dear Community Partners,

We’ve noticed an increase in calls to our business office from individuals seeking our 24/7 support line. To ensure survivors and their loved ones receive the immediate support they need, we’d like to clarify the best way to navigate our phone system.

For Support, Resources, Advocacy or Crisis Calls:
Please direct individuals to call our 24/7 support line at (707) 443-6042.
This line connects directly to our trained advocates, who provide confidential support for survivors, loved ones, and service providers.

Reasons to Call Our Support Line Include:

  • Conversations about survivorship or experiences, past or present
  • Safety planning and mental health struggles related to abuse or trauma
  • Access to community resources and referrals
  • Assistance with restraining orders
  • Sheltering options and emergency food or clothing
  • 1:1 peer counseling sessions
  • Support group sign-ups

If an advocate does not answer immediately, it’s likely they are assisting another caller or meeting with a client in person. We encourage individuals to try calling again shortly.

For Administrative Matters:
For inquiries unrelated to immediate survivor support, such as administrative questions, donations, or business matters, please call our business office during regular hours at (707) 444-9255 on Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:00pm. In addition, a good general email address for HDVS is dvservices@hdvs.org

We appreciate your partnership in sharing this information with clients and networks to ensure our services are utilized effectively. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Thank you for supporting survivors and advocating for safety in our community!
