Missing Man Found Off Highway 299; CHP Investigating

Press release from the Trinity River CHP:

On January 10, 2025, at approximately 1032 hours, the Redding Communications Center received a report of a vehicle in a creek along State Route 299 between Big Flat and Helena, CA. Officers from the CHP, Trinity River Area Office responded to the scene and located a 2021 Toyota Camry down a thick
bramble covered ravine. The Camry was not visible from the roadway. Upon recovery of the vehicle officers discovered a deceased party in the vehicle. The party was later identified as David Allen Moore, born in 1966. Moore was reported as a missing person from the Roseville, CA area in December 2024.

Trinity County Sheriff’s Office is handling the coroner’s investigation. The circumstances of this incident are currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Trinity River Area.
