SYNOPSIS:  Warm temperatures expected again today in the interior,

before some relief midweek. There is a slight chance for interior

thunderstorms Monday. Hot weather with temperatures over 100 degrees

possible Thursday into the weekend

TODAY: 

Inland: Sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Light south wind

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Increasing clouds, with a low around 52. Light and variable wind

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Calm wind. 

Extended Forecast:  A high-pressure system is building up while a storm system forms off the California coast, bringing hot weather today with temperatures in the 90s for most areas and possibly over 100 degrees in some valleys. Over the next few days, this coastal storm will move closer and cool things down by 5-10 degrees, also bringing a small chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, especially in northern areas. The storm system will move away by Tuesday and Wednesday, taking most of the thunder chances with it, though a stray shower is still possible. Starting Thursday, high pressure returns and brings dangerously hot weather back, with temperatures likely reaching over 100 degrees and possibly 105+ by Friday, creating hazardous conditions for people without adequate cooling.
