Three local fire chiefs have let Humboldt County’s Board of Supervisors know how much Measure Z funding has improved their departments. Daniel Mintz reports…
A message from Miranda Volunteer Fire:
“Miranda Fire Department would like to thank the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors for approval of Measure Z funding for our new Type 6 engine! Thank you to former Chief David Felt (MVFD) for requesting this engine years ago and starting the process. Thank you to Shelter Cove Chief Nick Pape and also our Southern Humboldt Fire Chiefs Association President for helping make it happen and all that you do! Also thank you to Petrolia Chief Chris Gilda for spending time attending and voicing Volunteer Departments needs at county board meetings. Salmon Creek Fire and Petrolia Fire also received Type 6 engines. Together Department Chiefs flew to Utah and drove our department engines home. Miranda Fire is very thankful for this new Fire apparatus. It will be instrumental for responding to keep community safe! Thank you to our department members for your dedication and volunteering to keep our community safe!
