The Lost Coast Festival of Spirits Two Nights, One Coast — Where Halloween Meets Día de los Muertos

This October, the Lost Coast is the ultimate stage for autumn magic — where costumes dazzle, pumpkins glow, and spirits (both spooky and soulful) come alive.
From October 24 through November 1, the Festival of Spirits transforms Shelter Cove into a playground of trick-or-treat adventures, haunted trails, and Día de los Muertos traditions. Whether you’re chasing jump scares, sweet treats, or meaningful remembrance, there’s something unforgettable waiting for you.
Don’t miss the warm-up:
Covetober at the Community Clubhouse — October 25, 3–8 PM. Celebrate fall with caramel apples, scarecrow building, and a, fingers crossed, dunk tank. Fun for all ages, all supporting local schools.

Spooky Trail Walk — October 25, 5–8 PM (Ages 12+); and October 31, 3–5 PM (Ages 11 & under). The SCARF Nature Trail transforms into a haunted hike.

Mi Mo Movie Night — October 30, 8 PM at Mi Mochima. Outdoor movie, popcorn, and community fun under the stars.

Halloween Night — October 31 is packed:
Trunk or Treat — Mal Coombs Park parking lot, 5–7 PM. Decorated cars and candy for the whole family, hosted by Joe Lopes and the Lighthouse Society.

Pacific Drive Candy Map — 5–8 PM. Trick-or-treat stops across neighborhoods and BLM parks. Maps available online.

Lost Coast Lantern Ride — 5:15–7 PM. Mi Mochima and Lost Coast Adventure Tours host a spooky, scenic ride — by reservation only.

Riptide Dojo Haunted House & Movie — 16 Lower Pacific Drive. Haunted house at 7:30 PM, followed by a Día de los Muertos movie night at 8:30 PM.

Gyppo Ale Mill Costume Contest — 1661 Upper Pacific Drive, 7 PM. Categories for kids, adults, and pets, with $60 gift cards for winners.

Día de los Muertos — October 31 & November 1:
Community Altar at the Labyrinth — Hosted by SCARF. 5-7PM, Oct. 31–Nov. 1. Bring photos, flowers, and keepsakes to honor loved ones.

Marigolds & Memories — November 1, 7–10 PM at Gyppo Ale Mill. Traditional food, festive drinks, live music, skeleton face paint, and colorful costumes in a joyful community celebration.
