ALERTS: A coastal flood advisory ended at 11 am this morning, however, another coastal flood advisory will be in effect again tomorrow, December 13th from 7 am until 11 am.
A flood watch has been issued for Friday, December 13th from 2pm until Saturday, December 14th at 3pm.
SYNOPSIS: Showers will persist through the day, with heavier rain expected in interior Humboldt and Mendocino counties. Rain should taper off by the afternoon. Snow may fall in Trinity County above 3,000–4,000 feet, with higher snow levels elsewhere.
TODAY:
Inland: Showers, mainly before 4pm. High near 52. Southeast wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Showers, mainly before 4pm. High near 55. South southeast wind 7 to 14 mph becoming west northwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Scattered showers, mainly before 10pm, then rain likely after 1am. Patchy fog before 1am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Scattered showers, mainly before 10pm, then rain after 1am. Low around 46. Light and variable wind becoming south southeast 6 to 11 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: More rain is expected late tonight and will continue through Saturday afternoon. Friday will bring moderate rain and strong southerly winds, with gusts up to 40–50 mph over higher terrain. Heavier rain is forecast Friday night into early Saturday, with 1–2 inches likely, which could cause localized flooding in small streams and low-lying areas. Snow levels may drop to 3,000–4,000 feet in Trinity County on Friday before rising later in the day. After the rain ends Saturday night, Sunday will be dry but may start with fog in the valleys. Another weather system is expected Monday, bringing additional rain before drier conditions return Tuesday and Wednesday.
