SYNOPSIS: Expect light rain this morning in parts of Del Norte, Humboldt, and eastern Trinity counties, which should taper off by the afternoon. Winds will stay moderate, with occasional gusts near 40 mph on coastal ridges. By later today, skies will start to clear as drier air moves in, especially in inland areas.

TODAY: 

Inland: Partly sunny, with a high near 64. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog after 4pm. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 62. West wind 3 to 5 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Areas of fog. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 45. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 7pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 46. Calm wind.

Extended Forecast: Dry weather will dominate through Thursday, with the potential for record-high temperatures in areas like Ukiah, where it could reach 69°F. A slight chance of rain returns on Friday for Del Norte and Humboldt counties, accompanied by stronger winds, especially at higher elevations. A stronger storm system will arrive Friday night into Saturday, bringing widespread rain and gusty winds that could reach advisory levels across coastal and inland areas. The region may experience a series of storms through the end of the month, with the potential for heavy rainfall and flooding later in December.
