WARNINGS: There will be a wind advisory in effect for the inland areas from 4 pm tonight until December 26, at 4 am. Along the coast, a wind advisory will be in effect from 10 pm tonight until 4 am tomorrow, December 26. A high surf advisory will be in effect along the coast from 2 am on December 26, until 11 pm that night.
SYNOPSIS: Expect mostly cloudy skies with occasional light rain or sprinkles throughout the day. Heavier rain and strong winds will arrive tonight, with wind gusts potentially reaching up to 60 mph along the coast and higher elevations.

Inland: A 10 percent chance of showers after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. South wind 5 to 7 mph.
Along the Coast: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly after 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. South wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Inland: A chance of showers before 10pm, then rain between 10pm and 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Low around 45. South wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Along the Coast: Showers likely before 10pm, then rain between 10pm and 1am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Low around 46. Windy, with a south southeast wind 24 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Extended Forecast: Tonight and early Thursday will bring heavy rain, strong winds, and a chance of thunderstorms, mainly along the coast and offshore. Snow levels will start low, around 3,000–4,000 feet, with up to 8 inches of snow expected on higher summits in Trinity County. Another storm system will arrive Thursday night, continuing a pattern of back-to-back atmospheric rivers through Sunday. While no single storm looks exceptionally intense, the cumulative rainfall could lead to flooding, and each storm will bring strong winds. Expect only short breaks between storms, making it hard for water levels to recede. Conditions are expected to calm down by Monday and Tuesday, though light rain remains possible before another storm system may approach midweek.
