Extended Forecast: Expect a shift to wetter conditions this evening as a weather system brings rain showers to Humboldt and Del Norte counties, with lighter rainfall extending into northwest Mendocino County. Showers will continue in bursts through Thursday, and heavier rain could develop Thursday night into Friday, especially near the Oregon-California border. Del Norte County could see up to 7 inches of rain in higher elevations over the next few days, increasing the risk of flooding in rivers, creeks, and streams. Farther south, rainfall will be lighter, but Friday’s frontal passage could still bring notable showers. Residents in rain-prone areas should stay updated on the forecast, as saturated ground could lead to localized flooding.
