Weather & Tide Report – February 25, 2025

SYNOPSIS: Expect clear skies and warmer temperatures as high pressure moves in. Winds have mostly died down, except for some lingering gusts in higher elevations of Del Norte County. Overall, today marks the start of a warming trend that will continue through the week.

TODAY:

Inland: Areas of fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 61. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:

Inland: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 39. Light and variable wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 39. Light and variable wind.

Extended Forecast: Temperatures will keep rising through the end of the week, reaching about 10 degrees above normal by Wednesday. A low-pressure system near the coast midweek may bring some clouds and a slight chance of showers, particularly Thursday and Friday, though some areas—especially in Lake and Mendocino counties—might stay dry. The real change comes over the weekend when a larger storm system moves in, increasing the likelihood of rain. While there’s still uncertainty about how much rain will fall, there’s a decent chance of getting over half an inch in some areas.
