SYNOPSIS: The day will be mostly dry with clear skies across Northern California. Morning fog or low clouds may develop near the coast, but these should dissipate by afternoon. Inland areas will remain sunny with chilly morning temperatures and highs warming to comfortable levels.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 54. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Areas of fog after 10pm. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 37. Calm wind.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Light and variable wind.

Extended Forecast: Expect dry weather to continue for the next week, with chilly mornings under clear skies. Breezy conditions will return this weekend, especially along coastal headlands and higher ridges, with gusts of 20-30 mph likely. Near or below freezing temperatures are possible in coastal and valley areas during the weekend and early next week, while some spots with persistent breezes may stay warmer. Interior valleys, such as those in Trinity and northern Mendocino counties, are likely to see sub-freezing overnight temperatures. Fog and low clouds may become more common along the coast by Friday morning but will clear as the day progresses. The region will stay dry with no significant rain in the forecast for the next week.
