Weather & Tide Report – January 24, 2025

WARNINGS: A cold weather advisory will be in effect for the inland beginning at midnight until 9 am Saturday morning. Coastal areas are under a cold weather advisory from 1 am until 9am Saturday. 

SYNOPSIS: It will be windy along the coast today, with gusts picking up in exposed areas. Inland, expect calm but chilly conditions with temperatures in the mid-30s to low 40s. You might see some fog or low clouds in the early morning, especially near rivers.

TODAY: 

Inland: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 7 mph in the morning.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy, with a light north wind increasing to 11 to 16 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 10pm. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a low around 32. North wind around 6 mph.

Along the Coast: Mostly clear, with a low around 33. Breezy, with a north wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Extended Forecast: This weekend will be mostly dry but cold, with gusty winds continuing along the coast and stronger northeast winds in the mountains and Lake County. Saturday could bring a few light rain or snow showers to southern Mendocino and Lake Counties, but they’ll be brief. Expect freezing or near-freezing temperatures at night. Looking ahead, next week will start off dry, but by the end of the week, widespread rain is likely, with snow in the mountains.
