Weather & Tide Report – January 7, 2025
SYNOPSIS: Expect dry and cool weather today as high pressure settles in. Gusty winds, especially in Lake County, could reach up to 40 mph in exposed areas like Cobb and Middletown. Watch for chilly morning temperatures and some lingering fog in low-lying areas.
TODAY:
Inland: Mostly sunny, with a high near 58. Light north wind.
Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Light and variable wind.
TONIGHT:
Inland: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. Light north northeast wind.
Along the Coast: Areas of frost after 4am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Light south southeast wind.
Extended Forecast: High pressure will keep our weather dry and calm throughout the week. Gusty northeast winds will continue in higher elevations of Lake County, particularly overnight and into Wednesday morning. As skies clear, cold nights are expected across the region, with temperatures dipping into the low to mid-30s, even along the coast, on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Daytime temperatures in interior valleys may stay cooler if fog and low clouds persist, but if they clear, highs could reach the mid to upper 60s. Towards Friday, a weather system passing through the Pacific Northwest might bring some clouds and a slight chance of light rain, mainly in Del Norte County, though the likelihood remains below 20%.
