SYNOPSIS: Steep and elevated seas continue tonight even as the strongest winds ease. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible this morning and could produce isolated gale force gusts. After a brief lull in winds today, southerly winds will increase to gale strength again late tonight through Friday. A steep westerly swell will build in late Friday up to 14 feet. Gale strength southerlies are forecast to develop again Saturday through Sunday with a third strong frontal system.

Inland: A 20 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 51. Light west northwest wind.
Along the Coast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 49. West wind around 7 mph.
TONIGHT:
Inland: A 50 percent chance of rain, mainly before 11am. Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 51. Light and variable wind. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Extended Forecast: The weather in Northern California will remain active over the next several days. Strong southerly winds will pick up again tonight, continuing into Friday, with seas remaining steep and a westerly swell reaching up to 14 feet. Another storm system will bring snow levels as low as 1500 to 2500 feet tonight into Friday morning, causing travel impacts in higher elevations. After a brief break on Saturday, expect another atmospheric river storm to bring heavy rain, snow, and strong winds by the weekend, with unsettled weather continuing into early next week.
