SYNOPSIS: A stronger cold front will move through the area today, bringing increased winds, mid-level clouds, and coastal drizzle, but rain will be minimal. Expect cooler temperatures and gusty conditions, especially near the coast.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 79. North northwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

Along the Coast: Patchy dense fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 60. North northwest wind 3 to 7 mph.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 42. North northwest wind 6 to 10 mph.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 47. North wind 6 to 9 mph.

Extended Forecast: As the cold front moves through, expect colder, drier air to follow, leading to chilly conditions by Thursday night into Friday morning. Frost is possible in some inland valleys, particularly in areas like Hayfork and Weaverville, where temperatures could drop below freezing. Gusty winds will continue, especially near the Sacramento Valley and Russian River Valley, with gusts of 25-35 mph likely through Thursday night. High pressure is expected to return over the weekend, though another trough may bring light rain to the North Coast early next week. Forecasts are uncertain regarding rain chances beyond the weekend.
