SYNOPSIS: Expect dry weather today with some high clouds and patchy valley fog. Temperatures will be mild, ranging from 65 to 75 degrees inland and 55 to 60 degrees along the coast. It will feel slightly cooler than usual for this time of year.

TODAY: 

Inland: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Along the Coast: Patchy fog before 11am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 57. Calm wind becoming north northwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.

TONIGHT:  

Inland: Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 40. North wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Along the Coast: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. North wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Extended Forecast: The rest of the week will stay mostly dry with mild daytime temperatures. Coastal areas and higher elevations may see breezy conditions starting Thursday as a weak front passes by, especially in Del Norte and Humboldt counties. Expect chilly mornings, with frost possible in interior valleys late tonight and again later in the week. Over the weekend and into early next week, the weather will become cooler and wetter as rain and stronger winds are likely to move in with a cold front. There’s still some uncertainty about the exact timing, but it’s shaping up to be a shift toward more unsettled conditions.
